survay of Wal-Mart

This is our result of survey. Our news and talk group wanted to know how are American people thinking about Walmart. Especially, I wanted to know how many people go or don’t go to Walmart, why they use Walmat, and their think influence of Walmart on US. most of our group of member’s survey was worked in student center. I also went student center for survey. When I asked filling survey questions to students, some people didn’t want do that, but most people was very nice to answer survey questions. I have interesting experience, when I went my friend house for survey. There were 4 American people. they live together with my friend. I handed survey papers to them. At the first, they discussed with these questions, but at last they argued each other, because two of them really don’t like Walmart, and two of them like to use Walmart. We found 59 people to do survey. 38 of them don’t like to go shopping at Walmart. The heist reason is cheap goods, but 28 of them think Walmart is bad for US.

According to result most people like to go shopping at Walmart, because there are cheaper goods than other market, however many people think Walmart affect US. I met 2type of people one of them have strong opinion which Walmart is bad for US, and one of them think good for US. They say Walmart sell cheaper goods than any other stores, so the other stores can’t exist if there are Walmart around them. Walmart is making US monopoly. But other people say as Walmart sell cheap goods, customer can save the money, and many small companies which provide product to Walmart are existed by Walmart. I think we can’t not say Walmart is good or bad. Many people think Walmart is bad, but many of them still use Walmart, because they also know they can save many with cheap goods.

The Summary of WalMart & Unions Survey

Our group did a survey about Wal-Mart and Unions. We found 59 people did this survey in Carbondale. 30 out of 59 are Females, 28 out of 59 are Males, and one of them didn't write his/her gender. I found something interesting in this survey. First of all, 20 our of 30 females and 18 out of 28 males go shopping in Wal-Mart. For those people go shopping in Wal-Mart, 15 out of 20 females and 11 out of 18 males feel Wal-Mart is good. Secend, 17 out of 30 females and 13 out of 28 males think Wal-Mart is good. In those people who think Wal-Mart is good, 15 out of 17 females and 8 out of 13 males think Wal-Mart should accept a union. Moreover, 26 out of 30 females and 21 out of 28 males think Wal-Mart should accept a union. Finally. 22 out of 30females and 23 out of 28 males think health insurance is more important than higher salary.

Before we did this survey, I assumed that females go shopping in Wal-Mart more often than males. However, the result of this survey shows that the ratios of females and males who go shopping in Wal-Mart are almost the same. In addition, I thought that females will more concerned about insurance than males, but in our survey, 82% males and 72% females think health insurance is more important than higher salary. Males are more concerned about insurance than females. In my oppinion, I think that is because if something bad happened to a man, the family can have some money from the insurance. Also, I found that 86% females think Wal-Mart should accept a union, but only 61% males think Wal-Mart should accept a union. More females think Wal-Mart should accept a union than males. I think maybe it is because females have more compassion than males. By doing this project, I have learned a lot.

The survey of Wal-Mart and union

Our group did a survey of the relationship between Wal-Mart and union. We wanted to know if American thought Wal-Mart should accept a union. Also, we were curious if American thought Wal-Mart treated employees fairly. In addition, we wondered why American liked to go shopping at Wal-Mart and how often did they go to Wal-Mart. We interviewed 59 American people in Carbondale. They were very nice to do the surveys for us. Some of them had extremely strong opinions about Wal-Mart and union. They also wrote some comments for us. We conducted the survey that 84% of American thought Wal-Mart should accept a union. Plus, 76% of American believed Wal-Mart treated employees unfairly. Finally, American liked to go shopping at Wal-Mart because it was cheap and always open, and 46% of American went to Wal-Mart once a week.

Before we started this project, I did not know the relationship between Wal-Mart and union at all. I have learned a lot from this project. I knew what a union is and how Wal-Mart treated employees. I thought American would think Wal-Mart should accept a union and it was right. However, I was surprised that the percentage that they agreed the Wal-Mart should join a union was so high. Also, I thought American would think Wal-Mart treated employees unfairly and the result of the survey was the same with what I thought. Finally, I believed American went shopping at Wal-Mart because of cheapness, time, free parking and stocks everything. The result of the survey told me that cheapness the most reason for American to go shopping at Wal-Mart.

About survey

We, news talk group A, practiced a survey about Walmart & Unions. Our group consists of 7 students and took charge of 8 survey papers for Americans. The purpose of this survey was to know their thinking about Walmart & Unions. Most survey is worked in student center which has many opportunities to meet American people. In my case, I met 8 students in front of Starbucks. All was very kind for my request, and serious to answer on paper. A final result, 58 people participated in survey (28 male, 30 female). Some interesting results were that males’ most important advantage of Walmart is cheap prices, on the other hand females’ opinion was free parking and close to home. In addition even though 44 people answered that Walmart does not treat employees fairly, 34 persons do not want to spend more money for them, if employees were making more money.

According to the result of survey, many people have inconsistent thinking and attitude about Walmart. Because they are mostly positive as customers despite of saying Walmart’s disadvantages, however they do not want be a member of Walmart. It is a natural result in the capitalistic economic system. Although 55 persons said Walmart will continue its success, the other 55 people answered they do not want work at Walmart even though 47 persons are positive about acceptance a union. Therefore it is difficult to solve a problem between Walmart and union. It depends on individual situation. In my case, I heard many bad things about Walmart, but I still go there, because it is my preference. If people are really critic about Walmart, they must not use Walmart. Yet they do.

Wal-Mart's Union problem

In this article, the writer maintains about Wal-Mart’s reaction to unionization. Many workers need to make some union there, but they deny accepting the new system. Because that spends a lot of money to keep, and workers can be stronger and the payment for them also can be up by a strike. Wal-Mart wants efficient management, so they don’t want to do that. However, the movement for workers has become stronger, so they act something about this soon. And the writer says this huge company’s system of employment has great influent for others.

In my opinion, Wal-Mart should be more polite for workers. Surely, this supermarket sells some products by really reasonable price, and we can understand the efficient system makes those can be. But too much efficiency leads to clashing of management. To avoid bad problems about employment, Wal-Mart should be good for their workers.
